Will the computer punish an unconventional story?
The rubric rewards voice and originality explicitly, and you see the reasoning for every score. If it misreads a risk-taking piece, you reorder it — that is what verifying means.
Is student writing used to train AI models?
Never. Stories are sent to our providers only to score that contest and are never used to train or improve any model.
Can I stop students from generating their entries?
Yes. Each contest carries an entry policy — “original work only” through “AI-generated entries welcome” — and entrants confirm it when they submit.
What if a story is about something difficult?
Results start private, students can be excluded from public display, and you can delete any submission at any time.
